"Teen King" Daniel Padilla admitted that he and love team partner Kathryn Bernardo have been wanting to separate but only for a while.

In a recent interview with the press for the launch of his sunglasses collection for i2i New York, Daniel said that he and his "Teen Queen" have been thinking of going on their own, but they still could not do so because of their "wild" fans.

They have been wanting to part ways, said Daniel, not for good, but only to grow and explore their limits as artists.

"Alam naman natin na darating sa puntong 'yon," Daniel said, implying that the "walang forever" adage is true, even in love teams like KathNiel.

Pano mo sasabihin? Pano mo gagawin? Nandyan pa sila hanggang ngayon. Wild sila eh. So paano mo gagawin? Paano mo paghihiwalayin kami?, Daniel added.

Daniel admitted that they want to be known as their own person, and not only as KathNiel. He explained that while he and Kathryn have had many successful projects together, they still want to explore other opportunities, but not by changing loveteam partners, so they would not risk breaking their KathNiel fans' hearts.

According to him, his dream project without Kathryn is a psycho-thriller movie or a war film. He said he wants to try his luck playing a soldier or a villain.

Medyo psychotic ako eh," he said with a laugh.
