Angelica Panganiban looked genuinely surprised when her ex-boyfriend, Carlo Aquino, surprised her with flowers at the launch of a book she wrote a foreword for, "Para Kay Ex," held Saturday.
She was in the middle of answering a question from reporters when Aquino walked in and placed his gift on the table.
Kung title ng libro ay "Para kay Ex" kaya nararapat lang kahit may isang ex ang nandito." Carlo.
"Hayop ka," she told Aquino, who quipped that he was acting as a representative for all the men who broke her heart.
The book was written by Beau Ang, and contained a foreword from Panganiban, dubbed the country's "Hugot Queen."
She admitted that she feels overwhelmed by the support her book has received, with more than a hundred fans present at the event.
"Natutuwa naman ako na ganito pala iyong suporta, na nagma-matter pala sa kanila iyong opinyon ko. Nakakataba ng puso," she said, adding that she wanted to endorse the book as a way to point out that while they are celebrities, they also experience heartbreak.
"Hindi naman ito pagpapansin," she said. "Gusto kong maraming tao ang ma-touch na hindi porke't nag-a-artista kami, nasa likod kami ng camera ay iba na iyong takbo ng buhay namin.
"Pare-parehas tayong pinagdadaanan --puwedeng masaktan, maloko at madapa. Pero pare-parehas din tayo na dapat ingatan ang sarili, at kailangan tumayo tayo at lumaban."
The book is published by ABS-CBN Publishing Inc. It is now available in select bookstores nationwide.
