When Ryza Cenon signed a deal to move from GMA-7 to ABS-CBN, many of her fans were shocked.
While not unprecedented, an actress leaving a TV station she has worked at for more than a decade is bound to be the subject of intrigue. So why did she decide to change addresses?
"Kaya rin ako nag-decide na lumipat kasi gusto kong mag-explore din, gusto kong makatrabaho iyong magagaling, gusto kong matuto sa kanila," Cenon told ABS-CBN News' MJ Felipe on Thursday, moments after signing her deal with the Kapamilya network.
She added that she would like to share the screen with close friends Angelica Panganiban and Angel Locsin.
However some netizen's are disappointed of her move to the rival network. Here are some of their reactions...
Cenon's move came after her win at the Osaka Asian Film Festival in Japan last month, taking home the Yakushi Pearl Award, or the Most Brilliant Performer Award. She won for her role in "Mr. and Mrs. Cruz" as a woman looking to move on from heartbreak by travelling. She also had just finished wrapping up an afternoon drama, where she played the lead antagonist. Her new deal with ABS-CBN includes a role in the hit primetime series, "Ang Probinsyano," along with appearances in a series of out-of-town and TFC (The Filipino Channel) shows.
