The total number of people affected by coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the Philippines is about 280,000, according to the Department of Health (DOH).
According to the agency’s case bulletin, the number of disease cases in the country has increased by 3,257, to a total of 279,526 today.
According to the Health department, 20 laboratories failed to submit their report yesterday to their COVID-19 Data Repository System (CDRS). These include:

- Cagayan de Oro Polymedic Medical Plaza
- Davao One World Diagnostic Center Incorporated
- Divine World Hospital
- Dr. Jorge P. Royeca Hospital
- Dr. Rafael S. Tumbokon Memorial Hospital
- Eastern Visayas Regional Medical Center
- Ilocos Training Regional Medical Center
- Lanao del Norte Covid-19 Testing Laboratory
- Kaiser Medical Center Inc.
- Las Piñas General Hospital and Satellite Trauma Center
- Las Piñas General Hospital and Satellite Trauma Center
- Makati Medical Center
- Qualimed Hospital – San Jose del Monte
- Safeguard DNA Diagnostics
- Taguig City Molecular Laboratory
- Teresita Jalandoni Provincial Hospital
- UP-PGH
- Valenzuela Hope Molecular Laboratory
“Of the 3,257 reported cases today, 2,628 (81%) occurred within the recent 14 days (September 5 – September 18, 2020). The top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were NCR (815 or 31%), Region 4A (494 or 19%), and Region 6 (241 or 9%). ”
Meanwhile, the number of those still recovering is at 65,906.
The number of recoveries has also increased to 733, so the total number of those recovering is already hitting 208,790. While 47 is an additional of the total deaths of 4,830.
Of the 47 deaths, 18 occurred in September (38%), 13 in August (28%), 13 in July (28%), 1 in June (2%) and 2 in May (4%). Deaths were from NCR (23 or 49%), Region 4A (11 or 23%), Region 7 (4 or 9%), Region 10 (3 or 6%), Region 1 (1 or 2%), Region 3 ( 1 or 2%), Region 5 (1 or 2%), Region 6 (1 or 2%), Region 9 (1 or 2%), and Region 11 (1 or 2%). ”
The DOH has again removed duplicates from the total case count of 20. Of these, 15 are recoveries and one is dead.
While 24 other recoveries were replaced by tagging after validation it was determined that 14 were dead, 10 were still recovering.
“There was also one (1) case that was previously reported as a death but has been validated as recovered.”
