President Rodrigo Duterte has assured that the government will pay the P930 million debt owed by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) to the Philippine Red Cross.
It will be recalled that the Red Cross has stopped conducting COVID-19 tests on those charged by PhilHealth.
President Duterte said the Red Cross has nothing to worry about because they will be paid and are looking for a solution.
According to President Duterte, the Red Cross will have to wait a little longer and pay the debt of PhilHealth.
PhilHealth President / CEO Dante Gierran first announced that PhilHealth will pay the debt to the Red Cross once the issue of the implementation of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) is resolved.
“Itong Red Cross, ‘wag kang mag-alala. Mabayaran ‘to. They’re just looking for a way to present the solution to the [Commission on Audit] pati sa budget,” said President Duterte.
“It will take time, but we will pay. We will look for the money. Hindi naman marami, but the priority natin dito is really medical.”
