MANILA – Some facilities of the Department of Health (DOH) also did not survive the recent typhoon Ulysses after the agency recorded some damages and problems in some hospitals and laboratories.
According to the agency’s report, all DOH hospitals in the National Capital Region are fully functional and operational. But Father Rodriguez Medical Center is still experiencing flooding on the ground floor.
“The patients were transferred to the 2nd floor of the said hospital,” according to the Health department.
The patients of Dr. Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center in makeshift tents was first evacuated to the main building of the hospital.
“East Avenue Medical Center and RITM incurred minor damages in their ceilings / roof.”
Some hospitals also reportedly experienced power outages and internet connection problems. There were also employees who did not attend due to the impact of the storm.
RESPONSE TO DOH HOSPITALS, FACILITIES
The Central Office has reportedly distributed hygiene kits and other medical supplies to its regional offices in the National Capital Region and Calabarzon.
The agency has also coordinated with the Office of Civil Defense-Mimaropa to provide generator sets to the facilities affected in the region.
“One Hospital Command Center facilitated the transfer of some patients to the hospital. Stand by vehicle to transport oxygen tanks to Amang Rodriguez Medical Center. ”
The regional offices of the agency have also been active in responding to the Central Office. Like the Center for Health Development (CHD) -Metro Manila which provided two generator sets at Amang Rodriguez Medical Center.
“Conducted site visit and distributed assorted medicines especially Doxycycline in San Juan City and Muntinlupa City.”
In the Cagayan region, the office allegedly distributed P485-million worth of hygiene kits and medicines to the Provincial DOH Office (PDOHO) -Isabela.
CHD-Calabarzon also ensured the supply of medicine to San Mateo, Rizal, and PDOHO monitoring in Laguna, Rizal and Quezon along with their respective Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices.
While the CHD-Mimaropa halfway house was first used standby shelter by their employees in need of help.
CHD-Bicol inherited aerial inspection in Camarines Norte, along with DSWD directors to see the extent of the typhoon damage in the province.
“Prepared logistics for delivery to Camarines Norte amounting from P600,000 to P4-million.”
“Planned delivery of logistics and site visit to Camarines Norte.”
