President Rodrigo Duterte has arrived in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan to conduct an aerial inspection of the areas devastated by typhoon Ulysses.
Based on the photo shared by DPWH Sec. Mark Villar, it can be seen that Duterte landed with his former special assistant and now Sen. Christopher “Bong” Go, Defense Sec. Delfin Lorenzana and others.
According to the report, the president will address a press briefing after the activity.
The province is currently in the State of Calamity due to the massive floods caused by the rains of typhoon Ulysses and the release of water from the Magat Dam.
According to the latest data from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), up to 37 people have died due to typhoon Ulysses. Cagayan Valley region has the highest number of 20, followed by Calabarzon and Cordillera (6), and Bicol (5).
There were 22 injuries in the Cagayan region, Calabarzon, Bicol and Cordillera. While 15 are missing in Calabarzon, Bicol and Cordillera.
Earlier, Vice President Leni Robredo arrived in the province who visited and delivered assistance to the families affected by the typhoon.
