MANILA – The total number of coronavirus cases in the Philippines has exceeded 500,000, according to the latest data from the Department of Health (DOH).
This Sunday, January 17, the agency reported 1,895 new victims of the disease. That is why the total number of cases dropped to 500,577. “5 labs were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Data Repository System (CDRS) on January 16, 2021.”
Davao City tops the list of areas with the highest number of new cases at 107. Quezon City (106), Isabela (65), Pampanga (63), and Bulacan (62) followed.
There are still 24,691 active cases or cures. It consists of 84.6% mild cases and 6.6% asymptomatic patients.
There were 3.0% severe cases, 5.3% critical, and 0.47% moderate cases. Meanwhile, the number of COVID-19 cures has increased after the time-based tagging “Oplan Recovery.”
The total recoveries are now at 465,991 due to the increase of 5,868. While 11 were added to the total deaths, it is now at 9,895.
“9 duplicates were removed from the total case count. Of these, 5 were recovered cases. ”
“Moreover, 5 cases that were previously tagged as recovered were reclassified as deaths after final validation.”
